The political and cultural disconnect between the global elite and our countrymen couldn’t be more poignant during the 2016 Presidential election. The American people are weary of being told what, who, when, and why by their leadership. Americans don’t want frivolous, burdensome regulations being pumped out of Washington, DC — they want their constitutional liberties upheld and preserved in all three branches of government.
The Presidential election means a variety of things to people, but what is pivotal can be summarized in three ideas: security, religious freedom, and our economy. All three are intertwined.
On the first day of the RNC, I was delighted to meet with my friend Billy Vaughn, with whom I wrote BETRAYED. He was with his wife, Karen Vaughn, who spoke at the RNC about the loss of their son, Aaron who was a Special Operations Chief for Navy SEAL Team VI when he was tragically killed in action in Afghanistan in 2011, suspiciously just 90 days after Osama bin Laden was neutralized. We place the blame on Obama’s reckless Rules of Engagement and poor leadership. Karen spoke boldly at the RNC but not long enough to give the full story.
Then we heard Pat Smith, mother of Sean Smith who died nearly four years ago at Benghazi. Her testimony was riveting and emphasized that Hillary Clinton is not fit to be Commander-in-Chief. After hearing Pat Smith share, “The last time I talked to Sean, the night before the terrorist attack, he told me, ‘Mom, I am going to die. All security had been pulled from the Embassy,’ he explained…I blame Hillary Clinton personally for the death of my son” I knew the Democrats would be scrambling to try to discredit a grieving mother. This is the same way the Democrats have tried to silence the Gold Star Parents Billy and Karen Vaughn through Obama-Clinton false narratives and side shows to distract from the bloodshed that haunts them.
Trump, who attended a military academy as a young boy into manhood, has consistently supported and encouraged the U.S. military and veterans. Trump is ready to lead as an unconventional politician and Commander-in-Chief. When retired Navy SEAL and author of Lone Survivor, Marcus Luttrell spoke at the RNC he captivated the audience when he thanked the RNC Delegation for supporting Trump, a leader Luttrell could believe in as a part of one of the most elite forces the world has ever seen. Luttrell promised that just as he dedicated 20 years of his life to military service that he would be spending the next 20 years defending the political frontlines in our country to show his appreciation. Furthermore two of the surviving American heroes in Benghazi, who also spoke at the RNC have publicly announced their endorsement for Donald Trump: Mark Geist (Oz) and John Tiegen (Tig).
In the U.S. Constitution, the God of Nature and Natural Law is recognized as the higher authority to man’s laws by our founding fathers. That notion is recognized in the Republican Platform that was adopted by the RNC Delegates in Cleveland where religious aspects with a Republican vision are discussed 56 times.
Respect for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is firmly embedded in the Republican Platform of 2016, which I encourage all to read, it is available to read free of charge and print on the RNC website: www.gop.com/the-2016-republican-party-platform/
Lastly, the economic platform is essential to the Presidential discussion. Obama who promised ‘shovel ready jobs’ after passing the largest bailout in U.S. history is ushering in the worst economic growth since President Hoover, 1.2% GDP growth in the last quarter. Obama’s leadership has grown the debt, grown the regulations and grown the economic burdens on the American people. Obama has stated that he is with Hillary because she will ensure Obama’s policies stay – we don’t need four more years of that approach to the U.S. economy.
Trump wants to unleash economic prosperity because he believes in American industriousness, ingenuity, and the spirit of hard working Americans. Trump knows what it’s like for businesses to make payroll, to face bankruptcy, and to take risks to journey into unchartered entrepreneurial territory. Hillary knows nothing of the sort in her long career of tax-funded paychecks. Trump knows that corporations have fled the U.S. because of high corporate taxes that make America an uncompetitive market. I encourage people to go to www.DonaldJTrump.com/positions to read more about his economic and healthcare proposals.
In the end it will be the religious and economic freedom the Presidential candidate envisions that will set this country on course and the vision for a safer America to secure those freedoms we cherish to keep our Republic.
Thus far, Trump is convincing a vast American voting base that he is capable of those responsibilities to lead a citizenry ready for genuine change in the right direction.
