CLEVELAND – Lisa Shin, a Korean-American Donald Trump delegate from New Mexico, took a turn in the spotlight at the Republican National Convention on Thursday and used her five minutes on stage to rip Hillary Clinton as a threat to the American way of life.
Shin, an optometrist from Los Alamos, introduced herself as a “very proud supporter of the next president of the United States, Donald J. Trump.” She also said her Korean immigrant parents would have been stunned to see her on the national stage.
“They never imagined that one day their daughter would be speaking to you today, and that’s the beauty of the American dream – to do and to be the unimaginable!” Shin said.
The New Mexico delegate then directed her attention to the Democratic nominee and delivered what amounted to a controlled burn.
“Hillary Clinton is a direct threat to the American dream,” Shin said. “Her policies would be utterly devastating to our economy. Her dangerous ideology undermines our democracy and freedom. She represents everything that is wrong with the system – deceit, corruption, cronyism and a total lack of accountability!”
